Saturday, 8th August 10:00 – noon Welshampton coffee morning supporting Macmillan Cancer Services.
Sunday, 9th August The morning service at Ellesmere will be led by Joyce Williams and Carol King. This will take the form of hymn-singing, entitled “Born in Song”. Please could you tell Joyce as soon as possible of hymns you would like, and perhaps why you chose them.
Saturday 15th August at 2:30 pm Forest Church with Deacon Carys Woodley. Future Forest Church date is: 19th September. Where this will be held will be communicated nearer the time.

Saturday 22nd August The MeMO trailer will be at Ellesmere Carnival, and your support would be welcomed. This will be Lay Worker Kirsty Barrett’s first outing, so you could come and meet her. If you would like to volunteer, she needs to know that you have had safeguarding training, as required by the Methodist church. For further information on this, please contact Kirsty.
Saturday, 5th September 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. “Care for Creation”. Shropshire Climate Action Open Day will be held at Church Stretton Methodist Church to look at Energy Efficient Buildings. Further information can be obtained from contact@shropshireclimateaction.org

Our Church Family Tony Williams is now recovering from further surgery at home. Please keep in your prayers those of our church family who have been ill recently, as well as others who are ill or troubled whose problems may or may not be known to us.

Parents & Toddlers (including babies). Two hours on a Tuesday morning, mothers can bring their toddlers to the schoolroom for the children to play and have a snack, and for mothers to meet each other and have a hot drink. This is our church’s outreach into the community, and apparently is the only such group in Ellesmere so serves an important function. The group has finished for the summer but begins again in September. If you are able to offer a couple of hours to help, maybe only once a month, it would be greatly appreciated. Please speak to Gill Cartwright.
Rev. Julia’s final service in this circuit last Sunday at Chirk was well-attended. Led by Deacon Carys, with tributes from others, it was an emotional farewell as she moves to pastures new in semi-retirement. She was presented with a bank transfer gift of £880 from the churches.
