SUNDAY 30th MARCH
This week’s service at 11.00 am will be led by Rev. Frances Biseker. After the service, she and Sarah Crockett will discuss their musical event on Easter Saturday. Refreshments will be served following the service.
Next week’s service, led by Rev. Julia Skitt, will be at Lee Bridges who are holding their Spring Celebration service at 2.30 pm.
Forest Church 4 – 6 pm at Welsh End. The working party will be sharing time and refreshments.
This Week’s Notices
Saturday 5th April at 3 pm “Simply Celebrate” at Ellesmere. A light, accessible service of relaxed worship and activity followed by refreshments welcoming people with limited ability and their carers. Everyone welcome. These meetings alternate between Ellesmere Methodist church and St. Mary’s Parish church. Dates are:; 7th June at St. Mary’s; 9th August at Ellesmere. Further information from the organisers: Rev. Saturday 12th April 10 am – 12 noon Coffee morning at Welshampton Parish Hall in support of Guide Dogs for the Blind.
Easter Saturday 19th April 2.30 – 4.00 pm. Rev Frances Biseker and Sarsh Crockett are holding a musical event at Ellesmere “Ease into Easter” with Easter songs and music from around the world. A time of listening and singing, refreshments and prayer. All are welcome. Musical ability not needed!
Welsh End at 2 pm. Forest Church Ann Threadgold writes: “The gathering will reflect on how the followers of Jesus were feeling after the trauma of Good Friday, but before the glorious resurrection dawn we celebrate on Easter Sunday.”
Easter Sunday at Colemere at 7.30 am Sunrise service followed by breakfast at the side of the mere at Colemere. Other Easter services will be advertised nearer the time.
Friday 25th April at 9.30 am “Difficult Questions” at Ruthie’s. Future dates will be: 23rd May and 27th June. We are looking at Rev. Neil Richardson’s book “Who on Earth is God?”. We welcome anyone, from any of the chapels, who would like to join this informal and supportive group
Sunday 1st June at 11.00 am. All the northern end churches will join the usual service at Ellesmere to receive donations made via the Easter Offerings envelopes. We will also hear about the work of Methodist Women in Britain and the people and organisations they help. (See further information on notice board where refreshments are served).
Other Notices
District Merger There is a new website for West Midlands Methodist District: https://www.wmmethodists.org.uk The site allows you to sign up for notifications and half-hour communication zooms as we approach the merger on 1st September of our own Wolverhampton and Shrewsbury District with the Birmingham District. There will be a service for the joining of the two districts on 30th August at Walsall Central Hall.

Mothers & Toddlers. Mothers bring their toddlers on Tuesday mornings to play in the schoolroom. If anyone would like to help the current volunteers please, they would be grateful. It would involve a commitment of only once per month, from 8.45 – 11.00 am, serving hot drinks and tidying up afterwards. Please speak to Julia.
