ELLESMERE METHODIST CHURCH
SATURDAY 10TH AUGUST
There is no Sunday service this week, instead the service is today, Saturday, 10th August at 3 pm. This is a “Simply Celebrate” service, a new initiative of Churches Together in Ellesmere every other month, alternating between us and the Parish Church. It is a light, accessible service of worship and activity followed by refreshments, welcoming people with limited ability or attention, their loved ones and carers, and anyone who would like to share fellowship.
Next week’s Sunday service at 11.00am with communion will be led by Rev. C. Foyn.
This week’s Notices
Saturday 17th August The MeMO trailer will be at the carnival and we would welcome a visit by any members of the church who could come and say hello, and maybe stay for a little while and chat to the passers-by.
Saturday 17th August 10 am – 12 noon Welshampton Methodists will hold a coffee morning at Welshampton Parish Hall. £1 entry and £1 for refreshments. Come along to enjoy a chat and a drink whilst helping to raise money for Welshampton Parish Hall. There will be a small ‘bring and buy’ table.

Forest Church. Deacon Carys writes “For the first Sunday of the month we have our Forest Church gathering at Welsh End where so work is done & a sharing time of thoughts, poems or reflections with refreshments.
Our normal Forest Church gathering is on the 3rd Saturday of the month. This will be on 17th August at 2pm, we will be gathering at Pant Methodist church and then going for a short walk up the lane. At Forest Church, we connect to God by connecting to nature.”
Saturday 31 August There will be a welcome service for Reverend Phil Summers at Knighton Methodist Church commencing at 2 pm. All are welcome.

Church Cleaning. Two people each weekend are now cleaning the church and schoolroom. With thanks to all those who have agreed to help. If anyone else would be willing to join the rota, they would be welcomed of course! Please contact Ruthie.
