ELLESMERE METHODIST CHURCH
SUNDAY 6th OCTOBER

This week’s service will be our Harvest Festival with a Baptism and led by Rev. Julia Skitt. Donations of dry goods will be donated to the food bank and other produce will be sold, the money raised sent to Water Aid.

Today is also Chapel Lane’s Harvest Festival Thanksgiving service. The evening service at 6.00 pm will be led by Rev. Gareth Ingham of Criftins.

Sunday 6th October at 4.00 pm “Work and Reflection” gathering at Welsh End will be planting bulbs. This is the last such meeting at Welsh End until the lighter nights.

Next week’s service 11.00 am Sunday 13th October will be led by Mike Jackson.

Monday 7th October at 7.30 pm there will be a sale of Harvest gifts at Chapel Lane.

Saturday, 12th October 10am-noon Lee Bridges are holding a coffee morning at Hordley Village Hall (SY12 9BQ). There will be home-made cakes, preserves etc. for sale. Support would be appreciated.

Thursday 24th October Circuit Forum at 7 pm. Open to all in the Circuit, held on the Zoom platform. Discussion paper (with Zoom, meeting ID and passcode) on noticeboard in the foyer. The conversation at this meeting will follow the conversation at the Extraordinary Circuit meeting which was held on 5th September. Feedback notes from the latter meeting are also on the noticeboard in the foyer.

Tuesday, 5th November at 3.30 pm Church Council meeting. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Difficult Questions For the next few weeks we will be studying the film “The King’s Speech”. We meet at Ruthie’s on the third Friday of the month. The next dates are 13th Nov. and 13th Dec. It is an informal group, we all found that studying the last film (about Stephen Hawking’s life) was very fruitful and inspiring. Please contact Julia if you would like to join us.

Church cleaning. Many thanks to Tony and Joyce Williams who cleaned the church this weekend.
